Bio

Sports Photographer Dennis MurrayI have been a sports fan for as long as I can remember.  Growing up in the Baltimore and Washington metropolitan areas, some of my earliest memories were the World Champion Baltimore Orioles and the Super Bowl winning Washington Redskins (both in 1983).  Even as a young fan, I could sense the victories were immense to the community.

I also was a participant at a young age – playing organized Baseball from age six (I had first picked up a glove and bat much earlier) into my teens and much shorter lived forays into soccer and basketball.

Photography became a hobby for me as early as Middle School, and continuing into adult life.  With the transition to digital photography, the occasional diversion of being behind a camera and lens quickly became a major pursuit.

My long love of Motorsports (specifically Sports Car racing) was married with Photography with a visit to the 2003 Petit Le Mans and then changing my SCCA membership from occasional Solo II participant to regular trackside photographer at Road Atlanta events.

Team sports joined the menu of coverage in 2006 and since has become a primary focus of my business.

As my own two sons, Aidan and Evan, have grown, my wife Mandy and I have now experienced youth sports from the side of a parent, assistant coach, and head coach in the Forsyth County community.  We have been active with the Midway Park organization, as well as the Atlanta Soccer Academy and Forsyth County Family YMCA.

I’ve even endeavored to take the challenge of being an athlete again, playing in the Forsyth Fusion’s Co-Ed Adult 7v7 league on Sunday afternoons.

My love of photography joined with my love of sports and youth sports, has enabled me to create authentic images of the struggle and triumph of sports.  Several years of experience in a variety of sports allows me to be prepared for any situation.
